Pool Stain Treat has the strength to remove stains from any kind of Swimming Pool

Pool Stain Treat is a patented pool stain remover that has the strength to work on any type of stain on every kind of pool surface.

Pool Stain Treat is a powerful chelator and sequestering agent, able to dissolve metals that have stained your pool to dissolve away back into the water. Pool Stain Treat works independent of pH and chlorine levels making it easy to use.

Simply add one bottle of Pool Stain Treat per 20,000 gallons to your pool in the affected area and watch the stains disappear. Pool Stain Treat continues to work for up to 60 days keeping metals water soluble and preventing future stains.

Pool Stain Treat is the most trusted stain remover in the Pool Industry because of its ability to remove the toughest pool stains.

What is Pool Stain Treat?

  • Pool Stain Treat is a sequestrant & a chelator. Those are fancy words for a metal holding, stain remover and preventor chemical.

Why do I need a stain product?

  • A fact not generally known by the pool business is that all water has metal in it. We get 25,000 calls per year on staining and over half showed no metals when tested. Staining is the number 1 problem and it's the hardest to fix. Algae is easy for us to get rid of.

Does Pool Stain Treat remove metals from the water?

  • Some metals will be removed from the water but no product is effective in eliminating all metals from the water. Many of our calls are complaints about competitor's products that didn't work. Since metals come from dust, rain, fertilizers, city and well water, other chemicals, it's ridiculous to believe that you don't have metals in your pool. United's position is that you always treat for metals and that will protect you from a bad surprise. It's like wearing your seat belt always when you drive.

How effective is Pool Stain Treat?

  • Pool Stain Treat is the most powerful stain product in the market today. It is recommended by most of the fiberglass companies, the largest vinyl pool company (Doughboy), plasterers from coast to coast. Thousands of pool professionals use Pool Stain Treat.

What can I expect from using Pool Stain Treat?

  • First, you should know that stain removal is very difficult in many cases. Our normal dose rate is a 85,000 to 1 dilution. That's like doing the laundry with a drop of detergent. Your pool may clean-up in hours or take months to clean-up. Be patient. United makes other products that can accelerate the cleanup process but unfortunately they are more expensive.

Is Pool Stain Treat toxic?

  • No! When diluted in the pool water, the oxalic acid in the formula is below the level of oxalic acid in spinach and rhubarb. We calculated that you would have to drink over 1900 gallons of pool water to get enough oxalic to be toxic. Of course, you wouldn't have survived the water. We do have some competitors trying to scare our customers but that's their fear of a better product.

Do I run the pump when I add Pool Stain Treat?

  • It doesn't matter whether you run the pump or not. Some people like to dump the product directly on the stain with the pump off. It's faster and more dramatic but can cause temporary streaking. Follow the instructions, it's easy.

Will Pool Stain Treat affect my pool chemistry?

  • Yes. The product is acidic and can lower the pH. You may also witness a temporary loss of chlorine residual. Don't shock. Just gently chlorinate. Pool Stain Treat is unique in that it performs in any pH range and is not super susceptible to chlorine damage.

Do I have to drop my chlorine or bromine residual before using it?

  • No. Don't shock the pool and up to 3ppm of oxidizer is OK.

What is the #1 cause of staining?

  • After 200,000 calls, United now knows that high oxidizer (chlorine, bromine, peroxide) is by far the most significant cause of pool/spa staining. As little as 3ppm is enough to cause staining. Shocking causes levels way above 3ppm.

My dealer says that I have to hold my chlorine / bromine residual above 3 ppm. Is this true?

  • That was before No Mor Problems was around. United has made high residuals a thing of the past. As we said before, algae is easy for United. We've eliminated shocking, also. Remember these are the #1 causes of staining. With us, a 1 ppm residual is plenty, even in Florida.

I have clear green water, is this algae?

  • NO! That's classic symptoms of metal contamination. The pool is already trying to stain. When the water turns clear green, it's a sign of lots of metal and you should put in double the normal dose of United's Pool Stain Treat to counteract the metal.

What metals is Pool Stain Treat good for?

  • All heavy metals. That includes copper, iron, manganese, silver, and others. Typical metal colors are:
  •    green, blue, gray = copper
       brown, gray = silver
       pink, gray, brown = manganese
       brown = iron
       brown (Fiberglass) = iron/copper

I just plastered my pool, is Pool Stain Treat the best for it?

  • Yes! Yes! Yes! For some strange reason, the pool business doesn't relate to the fact that the best stain removal product should be used as a stain prevention product. If we're the best for removal, we're the best for prevention. Stain removal is much tougher than prevention. DON'T SHOCK! It's good for any just filled pool/spa.
Is Pool Stain Treat ok for my pool surface?
  • Yes. We are used on all pool/spa surfaces. We haven't found a surface that we can't be used on. Paint and color (marcite) are unique and be sure to follow the instructions.
  • Pool Stain Treat is safe and effective for every type of pool surface, be it plaster, vinyl, or fiberglass. We do recommend that if using on a colored plaster surface that you pre-dissolve Pool Stain Treat® to prevent streaking.
